TORONTO, June 16, 2014 Canada's canning season typically begins with the seasonal likes of asparagus and fiddleheads. This year, however, Canadian home canning company – Bernardin – kicks it off with #jarsfromthestars, a charitable initiative launching today in support of Community Food Centres Canada (CFCC).
Well-known Canadian celebrities, personalities and chefs have signed and filled Bernardin's limited-edition vintage-inspired green glass jars with edibles, trinkets and memorabilia resulting in one-of-a-kind collectors' editions of the iconic mason jar.
Beginning today at 4:00 p.m. EST on eBay Canada http://www.auctionjam.com/jarsfromthestars/ and running through June 26, 2014 the jars will be auctioned off to the highest bidders with all funds raised donated to CFCC. With its strong connection to food and ongoing support to aid the issue of hunger, the company's latest fund-raising campaign has attracted the following participants:
