Romarco appoints Regional Exploration Geologist

TORONTO, March 9 /CNW Telbec/ - ROMARCO MINERALS INC. (TSXV: R) (the "Company") is pleased to announce it has appointed Mr. Kevin Russell as Regional Exploration Geologist at the Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina.

Mr. Russell has more than 25 years experience in exploration and production in the gold industry with extensive knowledge of various mineral occurrences and exploration techniques for finding new resources. Before joining Romarco, Mr. Russell spent six years with Barrick Gold Corp at the Ruby Hill project in the Eureka District of Nevada. He was primarily responsible for the discovery of a deep 1 million ounce plus Carlin-style sulfide gold resource at Ruby Hill and for characterizing the geologic setting of the West Archimedes gold deposit and its currently active East Archimedes extension. Before his tenure at Barrick and Homestake, he was instrumental in determining the volcanic stratigraphy and modeling associated with the Quartz Mountain gold-silver project. Prior to Barrick and Homestake, he was with Anaconda Minerals and consulted on various gold projects for other companies.

Mr. Russell will be based in South Carolina and work under the direction of James Berry (Chief Geologist, Haile) in assessing some of the regional targets that have been identified over the past year. Mr. Berry and his team of five geologists will continue to focus on expanding Haile which remains open in all directions and at depth. Mr. Russell will be reviewing district and regional targets outside of Haile.
