Ron Perlmutter joins Avison Young in Toronto

Highly regarded real estate investment transaction specialist becomes Principal

TORONTO, May 3, 2016 /CNW/ - Amy Erixon, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director, Investments, announced today that highly regarded commercial real estate investment transaction specialist Ron Perlmutter has joined the firm in Toronto.

Effective immediately, Perlmutter becomes a Principal of Avison Young and Senior Vice-President of investment management (Toronto). He will focus on sourcing international capital for cross-border real estate acquisitions, identifying properties for investment, and maintaining asset management and client relationships. He was most recently Director of Real Estate with Bilfinger Real Estate Asset Management Inc. (Toronto), responsible for its North American program.

Perlmutter brings more than 30 years of commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. Notable prior roles include eight years as Vice-President of Investments with Primaris Management Inc., leading Primaris Retail REIT's acquisition program totalling $3 billion and 47 retail properties. Perlmutter also spent 10 years as Vice-President of Investments with Oxford Properties Group (Toronto), directing or serving as a key participant in the structuring and closing of Oxford office transactions exceeding $8.2 billion.

Perlmutter holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University and a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from the same post-secondary institution under its former name of the University of Western Ontario. In addition to being a licensed real estate broker, he is a registered professional engineer in Ontario. Perlmutter is a member of NAIOP and is a regular guest lecturer at the Schulich School of Business. He has also served as a panelist at a variety of real estate industry forums.
