Ronald McDonald House Of Southwestern Ontario Partners With Impact Auto Auctions For Unique Fundraising Initiative
One Car One Difference® car donation campaign taps into key funding opportunities to provide critical funding to families
LONDON and ONTARIO, Canada, Oct. 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Impact™ Auto Auctions, Canada's leading automotive salvage management company, today announced it has partnered with Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario (RMH SWO) to raise critical funding for the chapter. Through this partnership, RMH SWO will join the North American car donation program, One Car One Difference®, which raises awareness for the importance of vehicle donation. This marks the program's first partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) outside of the United States. The contributions raised through the national vehicle donation program will help RMH SWO provide funding in support of its mission to provide a welcoming, supportive and a secure environment to out-of-town families of children who are receiving medical care.
With 70 percent of Canadians living outside of a city with a children's hospital, there has been an unprecedented demand for the Ronald McDonald House and its services. RMH SWO will use the funds generated from donated cars to provide vital services for the families of seriously ill children. Through the partnership, Impact Auto Auctions' One Car One Difference® is helping RMH SWO secure more programming dollars through used car donations. In fact, one donated vehicle with a net value of $600 can provide up to one week of housing for a family at RMH SWO. One Car One Difference® assures a simplified process for participants by managing the entire donation, which includes running a 24-hour, 7-day a week national call center, picking up cars from donors and processing them for RMH SWO.
"Through our partnership with Impact Auto Auctions, we're excited to offer a new and effective fundraising opportunity to generate significant funds for our House," said Margaret Anderson, Executive Director, Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario. "We've experienced significant growth as a House in the past several years to accommodate the growing number of families in need of support services while caring for their ill children. The money raised through each donated car will allow us to continue to advance our mission by providing a 'home away from home' for kids and their families who travel to London for medical care."
Opened in 1985 and expanded in 2011, the RMH SWO supports up to 34 families at one time and has all the comforts of home, including a kitchen, internet, living room and a backyard. Families can stay together and be just steps away from their hospitalized child for only $10/night and no family is ever turned away due to an inability to pay.
"We are excited to embark on a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Southwestern Ontario, which builds on successful existing relationships with Ronald McDonald House Charities' chapters in five states across the United States," said Terry Daniels, Managing Director, Impact Auto Auctions. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides a much needed service to children with life threatening illnesses and their families, and we look forward to continued development and advancement of our partnership in additional locations across North America."
