Tough walk an emotional journey of endurance and remembrance
OTTAWA, July 17, 2018 /CNW/ - Two Royal Canadian Legion representatives will begin a long and difficult journey as part of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) team taking part in this year's Nijmegen March in the Netherlands.
Carrying a 10 kg backpack as they walk 160 km over four days, Ryan Ference of Llyodminster AB, and David Anderson of Sarnia, ON are representing Legion Branches #39 in Lloydminster SK, and #176 in Forest, ON respectively. The two were chosen for their dedication and history of service as Legion members.
The CAF invites a Legion representative to be part of their team every year. They invited Ryan and then David as a second Legion representative, as a way of further thanking the Legion for its history of support. The Legion sponsors the team's visit to Vimy Ridge while in Europe each year.
