Royal Canadian Mint Launches New Silver "Birds of Prey" and 99999 Pure Gold "Call of the Wild" Bullion Coin Series Français
OTTAWA, Feb. 5, 2014 /CNW/ - Building of the success of its limited-edition Canadian Wildlife silver bullion coin series and continuing demand for the world's only 99.999% pure gold bullion, the Royal Canadian Mint today announced two new wildlife-themed series for both product categories. Now shipping to official bullion distributors is the "Peregrine Falcon" 1 oz. 99.99% pure silver coin from a new Canadian Birds of Prey series and the first release of the Call of the Wild series of 1 oz. 99.999% pure gold bullion coins, featuring the "Howling Wolf".
"The Royal Canadian Mint is very proud to stand out as a leader in the global bullion industry by being a consistent innovator," said Ian E. Bennett, President and CEO of the Royal Canadian Mint. "Since being the first to introduce 99.99% pure silver and 99.999% pure gold bullion coins, the Mint is pleased to offer investors looking for the world's purest bullion new products which not only solidify our reputation for quality but also capture the imagination of our customers with distinctly Canadian themes."
The Mint's 2014-dated, "Howling Wolf" 99.999% pure gold bullion coin is the first in a new Call of the Wild three-coin series, to be released annually until 2016. Its $200 denomination represents the highest value legal tender among the world's 1 oz. gold bullion coins. Incorporating the Mint's exclusive micro-engraved visible security feature, the reverse of this new coin is designed by Canadian artist Pierre Leduc, who has boldly illustrated a howling wolf backed by lines representing the sound waves of his unmistakable call. This exciting new gold bullion coin is presented in richly designed credit card-style packaging and will be produced to demand.
The 2014-dated "Peregrine Falcon" kicks off the Mint's new four-coin, 1 oz., 99.99% pure silver bullion Canadian Birds of Prey series. Two coins per year will be released in 2014 and 2015. Its reverse design features a brilliantly illustrated Peregrine Falcon with open talons by acclaimed Canadian coin designer and nature illustrator Emily Damstra. Coins from this new silver bullion series will be produced to a maximum mintage of one million.
In keeping with a distribution model common to the world's major issuers of bullion coins, the Mint does not sell bullion directly to the public. Interested buyers are encouraged to contact a reputable bullion dealer to order these new gold and silver bullion coins.
