Royal Canadian Mint makes racing history with first-ever silver medallion honouring NASCAR® Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 9, 2015 /CNW/ - Stock car racing fans now have a new way of treasuring their favourite memories of North America's most popular motorsports series with a 1 oz., 99.99% pure silver NASCAR®-licensed medallion expertly crafted by the Royal Canadian Mint. This unique collectible, limited to a mintage of only 30,000 medallions, is now available for purchase.
Designed by artist Arturo Rotondo, the reverse of the fine silver NASCAR-licensed medallion features the dynamic illustration of a winning stock car on its victory lap, whose roaring engine can be as easily imagined as the noise of adoring fans cheering from the grandstand. Below the car is a fully coloured NASCAR logo. The obverse consists of a wheel in motion, with the NASCAR logo and "2016" engraved on the side wall of the racing tire.
The NASCAR-licensed fine silver medallion can be ordered by contacting the Mint at 1-800-267-1871 in Canada, 1-800-268-6468 in the US, or online at www.mint.ca. It can also be purchased at the Royal Canadian Mint's boutiques in Ottawa, Winnipeg and Vancouver, as well as through the Mint's network of dealers and distributors (in Canada and the USA only).
