Dr. Truong will receive this national honour for his many coin-manufacturing innovations, establishing Canada as a leader of the global minting industry
OTTAWA, July 6, 2017 /CNW/ - The Royal Canadian Mint is proud to share that Dr. Hieu C. Truong, who led the Mint's engineering and research and development programs for 36 years, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada by His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada. Dr. Truong's legendary creativity and ingenuity earned him the admiration of industry peers world-wide and inspired a new generation of Mint innovators who continue to advance the art and science of coin manufacturing. Dr. Truong was appointed for "his innovative contributions as an engineer and a leader who has helped propel Canada to the forefront of the minting industry".
