Poster art and an exhibit by Robert Bateman, iconic Canadian naturalist and painter, will be on display in The Royal Winter Gallery and Cafe, November 1 - 10, 2013
TORONTO, Oct. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair is pleased to announce that the winner of its 2013 official poster design contest is Julia Veenstra, of Hamilton, Ontario. The winning entry brought to life the Royal's Farm, fresh, Fun™ theme and has officially become a part of Royal history.
"We were very impressed by the number of talented artists who submitted entries for our poster contest," said Sandra Banks, Chief Executive Officer, The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair. "However, Julia's submission was energizing and engaging and will help to symbolize the role animals play at The Royal."
Ms. Veenstra's winning painting and others from her collection will be on display during the Fair in the Royal Winter Gallery and Cafe, which is also proud host to a stunning exhibit by iconic Canadian naturalist and painter, Robert Bateman.
Mr. Bateman will attend the Gallery in person on November 2 and 3, and again November 9 and 10 to talk about his art, his inspiration and his technique and will be available for signings. In addition, Mr. Bateman will give a special presentation at the Tribute to Excellence in Agriculture luncheon for Royal Champions of the 2013 agriculture competitions on November 6.
"As soon as I heard about this competition I just knew 'Celeste' was perfect for it," said Ms. Veenstra of her winning piece, which features a spirited Holstein cow. "Animals, and especially cows, are fascinating, inspirational subjects for me and there are none more beautiful than those which compete at The Royal.
The winning poster will be available for sale at The Royal in The Paddock and at the Info Booth.
