Government of Canada awards $140,000 to this manufacturing SME in the aluminum sector in the Lac-Saint-Jean-Est RCM
MÉTABETCHOUAN–LAC-À-LA-CROIX, QC, Aug. 20, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Businesses need to regularly improve and modernize their production equipment and facilities to remain competitive and support their growth. With this in mind, a Saguenay–Lac-St-Jean business will benefit from CED support to improve its productivity and expand its operations.
Richard Hébert, Member of Parliament for Lac-Saint-Jean, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that RPA Technologie (9140-0945 Québec Inc.) has been granted a repayable contribution of $140,000.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program was used to acquire production equipment, more specifically, a state-of-the-art digital aluminum cutting tool, along with a new computer system.
With this new equipment, the company will be able to meet growing demand for its products, eliminate subcontracting, reduce delivery times and improve the quality of its products. It will then be in a position to develop new markets in Canada and abroad.
Founded in 2004, RPA Technologie is a manufacturing SME that specializes in the manufacture of finished aluminum and stainless steel products and components. It provides specialized, high value-added services tailored to its clients' needs. The company manufactures aluminum nameplates and control panels using various techniques, including laser sintering, for permanent marking that resists acid environments, salty air and abrasion. Its marking technologies facilitate digital traceability, allowing its clients to make their factories smarter and ease their transition to Management 4.0.
