RPNAO is looking for the best health care stories from the past year
Association will announce winner(s) of its Excellence in Journalism Award on Sept. 27
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Aug. 22, 2012 /CNW/ - The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario (RPNAO) is accepting submissions for its annual Excellence in Journalism Award, honouring exemplary reporting in the field of health care, with an emphasis on the area of nursing.
"We're calling on health care reporters, editors and producers in Ontario to send us their best work over the past year," said Dianne Martin, Executive Director of RPNAO. "Journalists are the most important storytellers in our society and they play a vital role in bringing stories of nursing and health care to the public. This award is RPNAO's way of showing our gratitude to Ontario's health care journalists and shining a spotlight on their work."
Rules:
- Anyone may nominate a media story for this award. Journalists may also submit their own work.
- Multiple submissions will be accepted.
- Stories must have been published or aired between Sept. 1, 2011 and Sept. 14, 2012.
- The geographic scope of the story may be local, provincial or national.
- Stories focusing on nursing (particularly practical nursing) will be given priority.
- Print, broadcast and online stories are being accepted.
- Submissions will not be returned.
- There is no entry fee.
The Excellence in Journalism Award(s) will be presented at RPNAO's annual Gala Dinner on September 27, 2012 in Toronto. Judging will be conducted by a RPNAO's Awards Committee. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012.
