MONTREAL, Dec. 9, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Breakfast Club of Canada has scored big, bringing in two new star recruits to up its game and come to the defence of children in need. Together, Carey Price and Josh Gorges will be lending their talents to the Club and its mission. The official induction ceremony earlier today at École primaire Lionel-Groulx saw both players don the Club jersey. The school is one of 1,266 groups that belong to the Breakfast Club of Canada. The Club has been a strong advocate in providing a daily healthy breakfast and helping students get ahead for close to 20 years.
One draft round was all it took to win over this dynamic pair, both of whom have been long-time supporters of the Club's values.
"When the Club came knocking, I knew right away what my answer would be," said Carey Price. "My answer was unequivocal because I realize how important the Breakfast Club's mission is. By ensuring kids get a nutritious breakfast every day and helping them develop their self-esteem, the organization is giving them the tools to get ahead in life. It's that sense of determination - day in, day out - that inspires me. Success is something you work toward and build over time. It's something I really believe in."
As for Josh Gorges, he has a special message for all the kids who belong to the Breakfast Club across the country. "This is a huge honour for me, knowing that I'm now part of a team of 130,000 fighters who get up early every morning to come together and start their day the right way. I know that by joining forces we will achieve our objective. And that's one goal I won't block - promise!"
The Breakfast Club of Canada is delighted by this major recruiting coup. "With Josh Gorges and Carey Price on our side, our team's impact will be greater than ever. Together, we will be much more effective in letting people know about the important work we do and getting the entire community on board," said President and Founder Daniel Germain.
