TORONTO, May 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Russel Metals Inc. (RUS - TSX) announced today that Mr. James F. Dinning has been appointed as Chair of the Board of the Company to replace Mr. Anthony F. Griffiths who retired as a director and as Chair of the Board on Tuesday, May 6, 2014.
Anthony F. Griffiths was initially elected as a Director of the Company on May 14, 1997 and was appointed Chair of the Board on June 2, 1997. Mr. Brian Hedges, President and CEO commented, "It has been a pleasure to work with Tony. Tony has provided a great deal of leadership and wise counsel during these past 17 years."
James F. Dinning has been a director of the Company since February 17, 2003. Mr. Hedges commented, "Jim's extensive background and numerous roles as CEO, Provincial Treasurer of Alberta, Chancellor of the University of Calgary and as a member of various boards will provide outstanding leadership to the Company's management team and Board of Directors to enable further growth and profitability of Russel Metals.
