MOSCOW, Oct. 25, 2018 /CNW/ - Airbus, the international aircraft manufacturer, has identified the winners for the participation in the Airbus Bizlab Global Acceleration Programme. The Russian startup REYNOLDS is included in the group of the 15 best startups from around the world and will complete a six-month acceleration programme in France. The scouting of startups in Russia was organised on the basis of the GenerationS corporate accelerator of RVC.

The REYNOLDS office designs gas turbine engines for unmanned aircraft. The team created a scalable universal platform - a gas generator with unique performance and resource characteristics. This is the basis for several different aviation solutions, including a turbojet engine. At the Airbus competition, the team offered hybrid electric power units.
"This year, a group of talented entrepreneurs will again join the BizLab Programme in Toulouse, Hamburg, and Bangalore. Knowing the rich aviation tradition and the significant role of Russia in the aerospace industry, we are pleased to cooperate with the Reynolds team, our first startup partner from Russia," said Bruno Gutierrez, the Head of BizLab.
"For many years, Airbus has been actively cooperating with Russian companies, supporting the initiatives aimed at developing innovations for the aerospace and other high-tech industries. The project, implemented in cooperation with GenerationS, not only showed high interest in aviation from the younger generation, but also, once again, confirmed a high level of professionalism and creative thinking of Russian specialists," added Julien Franiatte, the Head of Airbus in Russia.
"Russian engineers demonstrated complexity of technological solutions and ranked high on the list of the best projects along with other global teams. The growth of graduates is a measure of work of any accelerator, and we perceive the success of our graduates as of our own," said Ekaterina Petrova, Director of corporate accelerator at GenerationS.
Airbus and GenerationS announced a partnership to search for innovative ideas and developments in the aerospace industry in March this year. From March to June, Russian startups and entrepreneurs could have applied for the participation in the project, presenting their development on one or more verticals. Until September, the jury evaluated all the applications submitted for the competition; in total, there were 214 technology projects from 80 cities of Russia. The most popular fields amongst entrepreneurs were: the production of new types of aircraft, manufacturing technologies, new materials, as well as virtual and augmented reality technologies, the storage and transformation of electricity, robotics, artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, space and satellite technologies, etc.
