Rutter Inc. Awarded LAV-III Upgrade Program Contract
ST. JOHN'S, NL, July 31, 2012 /CNW/ - Today, Rutter Inc. (TSX: RUT) is announcing it has been awarded a defense manufacturing sub-contract valued in excess of $2.7 million. The contract is related to a fleet-wide upgrade of Canadian Army LAV-III vehicles.
Under the contract, Rutter will manufacture new driver's instrumentation panels for the vehicles. The upgrade to the assemblies performed by Rutter is essential to introduce new technologies to the vehicles which improve the capability, survivability and operational longevity of the LAV-III fleet. Deliveries are to commence in the fall of 2012.
Fraser Edison, President and CEO of Rutter noted, "these units are substantially modified from the original design which was also manufactured by Rutter when the fleet was first introduced to the Army over a decade ago. We are pleased to continue our long-standing role, supporting the LAV-III and the Canadian Forces."
