Safety meets tasty at Oshawa Ribfest
OSHAWA, ON, Sept. 10 /CNW/ - The Oshawa Ribfest is a time for fun, friends and food, but it is also a time for CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) to remind drivers to watch for children this school traffic season.
"We need drivers to be aware of the large number of children heading to school this time of year and our School Safety Patrol program is helping increase the awareness of both groups, keeping everyone safer on the walkways and roads," said Leslie Rocha, CAA SCO Community Relations Specialist.
CAA SCO's School Safety Patrollers will be at the Oshawa Ribfest in the CAA Safety Zone — a crosswalk set up to allow the public to interact with the patrollers and learn vital traffic safety skills. Visitors to the CAA SCO Safety Zone and festival booth can also test their knowledge by taking the Smart Like a Patroller Contest quiz and enter to win an iPad™ or one of two MacBook® laptop computers.
