Sakto Corporation and Waterford Property Group Announce Winner of Canada 150 Banner Design

OTTAWA, Ontario, Nov. 7, 2016 /CNW/ -- Real estate development firm Sakto Corporation together with Waterford Property Group announce the winner of Preston Square's Banner Design Contest paying tribute to Canada's 150^th birthday celebration. The winning design is by David Hook of Ottawa for his artwork titled "Coast to Coast." Hook was awarded a prize package valued at $3,500. His design will be used to honour Canada's birthday in 2017 in media and print including the installation of decorative banners in Preston Square.

"The winning design is a beautiful and creative tribute to celebrate the birth of Canada in a way that represents the nation's past, present, and future," said Jamilah Taib Murray, Sakto Corporation Chairman. "I am looking forward to these colourful and meaningful banners which will line the street front of Preston Square."

The design was inspired by stained glass and incorporates all of the colours in the Canada 150 logo. It conveys a playful depiction of Canada's landscape from the Atlantic coast to the Pacific while encompassing the many diverse elements of Canada from its breathtaking natural landscapes to its bustling cities. The banner will debut in early 2017.
