Salvation Army Providing Nutritious Meals at Moss Park Armoury
TORONTO, Jan. 7, 2018 /CNW/ - With the recent extreme weather conditions and shelters hitting capacity, Moss Park Armoury was opened by the City of Toronto to shelter those who need a warm place to stay and a healthy meal. The Salvation Army is providing 100 meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as snack and hydration for those who will be utilizing the temporary shelter services.
Meals are prepared at a local Salvation Army Shelter and transported to the Moss Park Armoury for distribution. The Salvation Army is not accepting food donations at the Armoury. For those wishing to donate non-perishable food items we invite them to contact their local Salvation Army food bank.
"We are grateful to community members, churches and other groups who have taken the initiative to help feed those who are utilizing the Moss Park Armoury, said Major John P. Murray. However, we are not accepting food donations on site."
The Salvation Army is accepting monetary donations at SalvationArmy.ca for those who would like to make an online donation. You can also call 1-800-SAL-ARMY to donate.
