Salvation Army Youth Band Departs for Southern California to March in the 2013 Tournament of Roses Parade
TORONTO, Dec. 26, 2012 /CNW/ - On Thursday, December 27, 2012, 35 Salvation Army young people from the Greater Toronto Area will depart Toronto for Pasadena, California as The Salvation Army Ontario Central East Divisional Youth Band will be this year's guest band for the organization's Tournament of Roses Parade, set for January 1, 2013 in Pasadena, California.
For more than 80 years, The Salvation Army has marched in the Rose Parade in Pasadena. The Salvation Army Tournament of Roses Band is made up of more than 150 musicians. The Salvation Army Ontario Central East Divisional Youth Band is a group of dedicated young musicians who are keen to volunteer and share about the work of our organization in the community through music. In recent years the band has toured Alberta, Newfoundland and Ontario and recently completed a tour of Clearwater - St. Petersburg, Florida.
The band will depart Toronto's Pearson International Airport, Terminal #1, via Air Canada #799 at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2012.
