Samsung Canada Auctions off 75-inch flagship TV in Support of Children's Hospitals
Over $26,000 donated to SickKids and BC Children's Hospital as part of Samsung Hope for Children Auction
MISSISSAUGA, Dec. 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Samsung Electronics Canada Inc., a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, auctioned off two of its flagship televisions on Friday, November 30th, with the proceeds going to local children's hospitals. As part of a Samsung Smart TV office tower activation, a 75-inch ES9000 LED TV ($9,999 CDN value) was auctioned off to consumers in Toronto and Vancouver with Samsung Hope for Children then matching dollar-for-dollar the final bid. In total the SickKids Foundation and BC Children's Hospital Foundation will receive $26,200.
The Samsung Smart TV activation is a high impact display space that gives consumers the opportunity to experience premium Samsung products together, learn about benefits from on-site experts, and even purchase on-the-spot. Featured products include the stunning ES9000 LED TV, DA-E750 Wireless Audio Dock, Galaxy SIII smartphones and the NX series of cameras. The Samsung Smart TV activation was located at the RBC Royal Centre in Vancouver and the RBC Plaza in Toronto during the week of November 26th - 30th, with the Samsung Hope for Children auction taking place on the final day.
