Samsung Canada Celebrates the Upcoming Launch of the GALAXY S 4 with Canadian Musical Pride

Simultaneous Regional Preview Parties in Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto with celebrated Canadian Bands: Dragonette, STARS, Walk off the Earth and a special appearance by Feist

MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada, get ready to rock! Samsung Canada, the leading supplier of mobile phones in the Canadian marketplace, announced today that it will celebrate the upcoming launch of the Samsung GALAXY S 4 with regional launch parties on April 25, 2013. Redefining the smartphone experience, the GALAXY S 4 allows users to connect with friends and family from near and far in exciting ways. To celebrate this connected experience, Samsung Canada is previewing the device to Canadian consumers with an integrated tri-city exclusive launch experience.

Launching in true Canadian-style, Samsung Canada has invited amazing Canadian talent to perform live for Samsung fans at a private event in the following cities:

• Dragonette in Montreal
• STARS in Vancouver
• Walk Off-The-Earth (WOTE) in Toronto
  

Canadian fans in all three events will also be treated to a special technological experience with acclaimed Canadian musician - Feist. Leslie Feist is best known for her 2004 Juno award winning album Let It Die, which parlayed in to worldwide success with 2007's The Reminder, which earned her four Grammy nominations, six Juno wins, and the Shortlist Music Prize. Most recently Feist released a 12-song album "Metals", which is known for songs that range from low rumbling and moody ambiences.

The Samsung GALAXY S 4 private preview events will take place Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Montreal Event:
JUNO Award-winning electropop trio, Dragonette will perform for Montreal-based Samsung fans at New City Gas, located at 950 rue Ottawa, Montreal. The Toronto band is currently promoting their latest album "Bodyparts", with an upcoming North American tour kicking off in May.  Doors will open at 8:00pm for Montreal-based ticket holders.

Vancouver Event:
Fresh from not one but two appearances at Coachella and following an international tour of Australia, Asia, Canada and the U.S. (including 4 dates with Tegan & Sara), indie sensation - STARS will be preforming hit tracks from their storied career for Vancouver audiences. Over the course of more than a decade together, STARS have consistently proven themselves, with critically acclaimed albums, including the most recent "The North". Doors will be opening at 5:00pm at Rocky Mountaineer Station - 101-369 Terminal Ave in Vancouver.

Toronto Event:
Toronto fans will be treated to a private performance by Walk off the Earth (WOTE) at Kool Haus - located at 132 Queens Quay E, Toronto, with doors opening at 8:00pm.  WOTE is a multi-talented five-piece musical phenomenon that is currently taking the world by storm. They are promoting their first full-length album, R.E.V.O., featuring 10 brand new songs, including the cover of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know".

Device Availability:
