Canadian Tire Centre to become first NHL arena outfitted with 500 Samsung HD screens
OTTAWA, March 18, 2014 /CNW/ - Samsung Electronics Canada, a global leader in digital media and digital convergence technologies, is proud to announce a partnership with the Ottawa Senators to become the 'Official Electronics Partner of the Ottawa Senators and Canadian Tire Centre'.
Fans of the Ottawa Senators and patrons of the Canadian Tire Centre will see an immediate impact. With over 500 high definition screens to be installed to the Senators' home arena, the Canadian Tire Centre installation marks the first Canadian National Hockey League venue to debut this technology. With the deployment of these Samsung screens connected to the Cisco Stadium Vision System, Canadian Tire Centre now has the ability to connect and engage fans from anywhere in the arena thanks to the in-arena improvements from this partnership.
"With the installation of over 500 screens, Samsung Canada is excited to augment the in-arena fan experience by giving them the opportunity to connect, engage and share their passion for the Senators with other fans at the Canadian Tire Centre," said Mark Childs, Chief Marketing Officer, Samsung Canada. "Canadians are passionate about hockey and Samsung is constantly looking for new ways to connect fans with their favourite team and players. We are thrilled to be part of this technology connected experience and look forward to seeing how fans 'Play More. Do More. Share More'."
Samsung is also giving fans the opportunity to engage through social channels using #SamsungSensFan. Fans are encouraged to post their game day fan 'selfies' for a weekly chance to win TVs, tablets, phones and cameras courtesy of Samsung Canada. The winning photo will be posted on ottawasenators.com and added to the Ottawa Senators mobile app. This partnership will ensure fans never miss a second of action and ensure they have access to highlights and replays throughout Canadian Tire Centre. Fans can learn more about the #SamsungSensFan of the week contest by visiting the Senators website. Some conditions apply, full contest details available online.
"We are committed to provide the best possible experience for our fans, and the addition of the 500-plus high-definition Samsung screens will enhance and amplify our world-class entertainment experience," said Senators president Cyril Leeder. "These screens, as part of the Canadian Tire Centre Vision system, will allow our fans to stay connected to the action in virtually any location of the arena, between their arrival and departure. In addition, partnerships like this one with Samsung reinforce our commitment to the Ottawa business community by providing our sponsors and partners an exciting new opportunity to reach and engage with our fans."
