Sandermoen School of Business launches fully-online MBA and EMBA specialty stream in Human Resources Leadership
FREDERICTON, Sept. 22, 2015 /CNW/ - It has become critical that organizations use human resource practices to drive strategic initiatives and organizational success. Achieving this has meant that businesses now have an enhanced desire to hire HR professionals with a firm knowledge of fundamental business principles. Responding to the need for more accessible educational opportunities that bridge these areas, the Sandermoen School of Business at the University of Fredericton has added two new fully-online MBA and Executive MBA specialty streams in Human Resources Leadership. Each stream will be accepting students beginning in November 2015, with five-six additional start dates per year.
The new Human Resources Leadership streams will help both early and advanced career professionals to augment their capacity to contribute to organizational goals. For those in an early-career setting, the programs will provide a stronger understanding of business motivations and how to best integrate business strategy with HR principles. More advanced HR professionals will benefit from the honing of skills accumulated over the course of their careers, while simultaneously obtaining the advanced degree often required for senior-management advancement. Both groups benefit immensely from the fully-online delivery of the programs, which allows students to elevate their careers without losing career momentum.
"Students in the program have a unique opportunity to pursue the education they need to be successful in their careers without sacrificing work or personal commitments" states Sheri McKillop, Associate Dean of the Sandermoen School of Business, "The speciality streams are designed to build on foundational management principles developed throughout the program, helping students to strategically approach the HR specialty courses with a broader business perspective"
The programs will cover a spectrum of topics from corporate management essentials such as accounting, finance and operations, to a detailed examination of leadership within a network of complex stakeholder relationships. The program then incorporates three Human Resources specialty courses, and an Integration Project that serves as the capstone project. In each course, students meet in a live, virtual classroom once a week with their professor and their peers, allowing for an exceptionally high degree of collaboration and networking.
