Sandvine Wins its Fifth Diamond Technology Award
Fairshare Traffic Management with QualityGuard awarded '4 Diamonds'
WATERLOO, ON, Oct. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) (AIM:SAND) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has won its fifth BTR Diamond Technology Review award, including the most recently awarded '4 Diamonds' for Sandvine's Fairshare Traffic Management product. Sandvine's Fairshare Traffic Management has been deployed in over 110 service provider networks worldwide across all access technologies.
"Sandvine has been a leader in congestion management for the past decade. Our latest version of Fairshare Traffic Management brings a powerful and dynamic congestion control system, called QualityGuard, that works in concert with our policy decision and enforcement capabilities," said Don Bowman, CTO, Sandvine. "Operators can cost-effectively manage their networks sector by sector to deliver an optimal experience without resorting to crude approximations such as daily or hourly network-wide traffic management policies. This new functionality complements the industry-leading integration we have in cable via IPDR and PacketCable MultiMedia. We plan to take congestion management to the next level by giving operators the power to engineer their networks to deliver constant quality with a true quality measurement."
Sandvine has won over 25 technology awards in the past ten years. These awards acknowledge Sandvine's leadership in innovation and commitment to developing leading-edge products that address the growing needs of CSPs today.
"This award is a testament to Sandvine's commitment to research and development and our ongoing innovation," said Mr. Bowman. "Our products continue to receive industry recognition as we dedicate resources and place high-value on providing solutions that address the needs of fixed and mobile operators worldwide."

ABOUT THE DIAMOND TECHNOLOGY REVIEW PROGRAM
The BTR Diamond Technology Reviews ("the Diamonds") is a renowned industry program now in its sixth year - that was developed to recognize some of the top products and solutions available to the cable industry as determined by a stellar panel of MSO engineering experts. Engineering executives from Bright House, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Suddenlink, Sunflower Broadband and Time Warner Cable served as third-party judges for the 2011 Diamonds. Every year, BTR invites vendors to submit written information about products/solutions that have been released or upgraded since the previous year's SCTE Cable-Tec Expo (October 2010). Criteria used in the Diamonds rankings include, first and foremost, unique technology or application thereof, innovation, ease of use, efficiency, reliability and contribution to profitability.
