Sandvine wins Tier 1 Latin American Mobile Operator Group
Network Analytics to be deployed for centralized business intelligence
WATERLOO, ON, Nov. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that it has received initial orders exceeding $4 million from several properties of a Tier 1 mobile service provider group that operates in most countries across Latin America. These orders extend Sandvine's leading market share among best-of-breed network policy control vendors in the Americas.
This new customer will be deploying Sandvine's Network Analytics product across group properties to provide actionable business intelligence about popular applications, devices and network quality. The information can be easily compared and contrasted between networks and regions, and to support business and operational decisions for the future.
In Latin America, operators are hungry for business intelligence solutions that can help them understand subscriber preferences as a first step towards differentiating their service offerings. Many of Sandvine's customers in the region have deployed products from the Company's Service Creation portfolio to launch innovative services such as unlimited, pre-paid tiers for social networking, email, chat and other popular applications.
"In Latin America, we are helping operators segment their subscriber base so they can determine what services may be both affordable to users and profitable to the operator," said Tom Donnelly, Sandvine's COO, Sales and Global Services. "In many cases the result has been innovative new service tiers that have provided Internet access to users who otherwise may not have seen the value."
