Sandvine's OutReach Powers Vivo App Store in Brazil
WATERLOO, ON, July 24, 2017 /CNW/ - Sandvine, (TSX:SVC) a leading provider of intelligent broadband network solutions for fixed and mobile operators, today announced that Vivo Brazil is using Sandvine's OutReach product to power a flexible and dynamic content portal called the Vivo App Store. OutReach has been successfully powering the Vivo App Store since 2016.
The Vivo App Store enables subscribers to purchase a wide variety of digital services, including third-party value added services such as streaming music, smartphone security, and games, from any smartphone, tablet, or laptop browser. No matter what device is used, the Vivo App Store provides an optimal digital shopping experience for subscribers. Vivo is the largest mobile operator in Brazil.
Sandvine's OutReach provides fixed, mobile, and converged communications service providers (CSPs) with a single product to build and execute omni-channel sales, marketing, and customer care campaigns across more than 26,000 device types. With OutReach, CSPs can rapidly implement a wide variety of valuable use cases, including notifications and promotions, self-service, app/content stores, and rich subscriber portals.
In many parts of the world, bank accounts, debit services, and credit cards are not available to all. Consequently, subscribers cannot easily make purchases from iTunes, Google Play, or other digital content stores. In these markets, the mobile service provider often serves as an intermediary in many transactions with subscribers using their credit with the mobile provider to make purchases. One opportunity that this reality presents is for mobile operators to create their own digital storefronts and offer digital content, apps, and even physical goods otherwise unavailable to subscribers. OutReach is the platform supporting Vivo's digital storefront: the Vivo App Store.
"OutReach's ease-of-use and advanced customization capabilities enable Vivo to provide seamless access to third-party digital services to all of their subscribers, across all device types, with a much faster time-to-market than alternative subscriber engagement solutions," said Tom Donnelly, COO, Sandvine.
