MONTREAL, May 1, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The HEC Montréal Foundation and Sanofi Pasteur Canada announced today a five-year partnership aimed at improving business innovation and creativity. Sanofi Pasteur will contribute $100,000 to the HEC Montréal Foundation to support programs and services at HEC Montréal, and to provide scholarships for students actively involved in Mosaic, an HEC Montréal group focused on the management of innovation and creativity. The donation was made as part of Campus Montréal, a major fundraising campaign led jointly by HEC Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal and Université de Montréal.
Ludovic Egglefield-Frenette, Aline Massouh, Alice Niyizurugero and Fabio Prado Saldanha are the recipients of the first Sanofi Pasteur scholarship of $2,500 each. The students were selected for their outstanding academic achievement and contribution to Mosaic.
"We are extremely appreciative of Sanofi Pasteur's support for our students," said Laurent Simon, HEC Montréal management professor, who co-founded Mosaic with Professor Patrick Cohendet in 2007. "This support reflects Sanofi Pasteur's commitment to the next generation of managers and the importance of integrating creativity in the management process, which will be an essential skill for managers in the years and decades to come."
"As a leader in vaccine R&D and manufacturing, Sanofi Pasteur recognizes that innovation - in all its forms - is critical for a healthy, competitive Canadian economy," said Mark Lievonen, President, Sanofi Pasteur Canada. "We are pleased to support HEC Montréal and the cutting-edge research being done under its Mosaic program."
Mosaic is a group of researchers and professors from different disciplines working on boosting innovation and creativity. The group studies, exchanges and compares creative approaches and practices from diverse fields ranging from industry and arts to science.
