Reed's strong background in information management software, technology and sales to build upon SAS Canada's growth in business analytics market
TORONTO, May 14, 2013 /CNW/ - SAS, the leader in business analytics, announced today that Carl Farrell, President of SAS Canada and Executive Vice President of SAS Americas, has appointed long-time industry leader Ron Reed to the position of Vice President of Sales with SAS Canada.
Reed has more than 25 years of relevant industry, software sales and management experience. In this role, he is responsible for leading the national sales team in addressing client business issues and aligning them with SAS Business Analytics solutions, which optimize an organization's processes and provide a measurable return on investment.
"Over his two and a half decades in the software and technology industry, Ron has proven himself a seasoned leader, capable of inspiring success in his teams," said Farrell. "With his customer-focused approach and solid understanding of key markets like information management, big data and analytics, I am confident Ron will help build upon SAS Canada's continued success."

Before joining SAS, Ron was the Canadian Country Manager with Informatica Corporation where he was responsible for sales and all facets of the Canadian operation. Prior to this, he held senior management roles at Reynolds & Reynolds Company, Progress Software and J.D. Edwards. He is a graduate of Brown University and holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Math and Economics.
Earlier in 2013 SAS Canada celebrated another successful year, announcing an 11 per cent increase in new software revenue over the previous year. In response to ongoing growth and demand, SAS Canada announced that it will continue hiring for the fourth consecutive year, increasing its employee base by more than 10 per cent, acquiring further domain expertise in areas such as Fraud detection and prevention, Customer Intelligence and Information Management, to support and respond to customer demand for its business analytics solutions in these areas.
