Savanna Energy Selects Q9 For High Availability Data Centre Services
CALGARY, July 10, 2013 /CNW/ - Q9 Networks Inc. (Q9) is pleased to announce it has been selected by Savanna Energy Services Corporation (Savanna) to provide high availability co-location services for its global production, development and user acceptance testing environments. Savanna's virtualized production environment includes critical databases and applications such as financial reporting.
Under the terms of the agreement, Q9 is providing Savanna with secure physical space, highly reliable power, Internet bandwidth and 7x24 monitoring to ensure the highest levels of reliability.
Savanna is a premier contract drilling and oilfield services company with headquarters in Calgary, Alberta. It has more than 100 drilling rigs and more than 100 well service rigs. It maintains 24 offices around the world with operations in Canada, the United States and Australia.
Outgrowing its internal data centre, Savanna conducted extensive due diligence of possible alternatives, including a review of all outsourced data centre providers in Calgary and as far away as Toronto.
"We were most impressed by Q9's Calgary facilities," says Jim Clarke, Network Infrastructure Manager, Savanna Energy Services. "Of all the data centres we reviewed, Q9's had the most redundancies and was the most professionally managed.
"Furthermore, Q9 went above and beyond during the move from our data centre to theirs, quickly resolving a situation caused by a third party that could have jeopardized the entire move. Their actions made the project a success and their service since the cut-over continues to be impeccable. We consider them to be a true partner."
Q9 designs, builds and operates its data centres to meet the most demanding IT infrastructure requirements, including the increased power and cooling demands of today's high density computing devices. Customers connect to the Internet via Q9's unique network and are protected by Q9's 100 percent, SLA-backed uptime guarantees on both power and network availability. Customer equipment and data centre environmental parameters are monitored 7x24 by Q9's Control Centre, staffed by experts versed in all aspects of IT and facilities management.
"We are delighted to be providing Savanna with the data centre services it requires to ensure the reliability of its critical systems," says Osama Arafat, Chief Executive Officer, Q9 Networks. "Our efforts continue to be focused on providing a foundation of exceptional people, processes and facilities that allow our customers to reduce the time and costs required to operate a data centre so that they can concentrate resources on higher value activities."
