Scarborough church and healthcare union rally to help family left homeless by house fire
RICHMOND HILL, ON, Aug. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - A local church in Scarborough will be accepting donations this Saturday for a local family left homeless by a fire in their Kimbercroft Court townhouse. The fire, which occurred on August 15th , claimed all the families' possessions. The family was not insured.
Barbara Osmond, her daughters aged five and 18 and her 17 year old son have been unable to find permanent housing since the blaze.
Miracle Centre Ministries, located at 1,792 Birchmount Road in Scarborough, will be accepting donations for the family as part of their back2school BBQ. The BBQ is sponsored by SEIU Healthcare, Canada's largest healthcare union. Ms. Osmand is a SEIU Healthcare member.
Members of the public who wish to donate to the Osmond family are encouraged to come by the BBQ from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. this Saturday and ask for Pastor Gale. Donations of back to school supplies, food and clothing would be most appreciated.
