KINGSTON, ON, April 27, 2018 /CNW/ - Unifor, representing school bus drivers at the Limestone District School Board, the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic School Board and Tri-Board Student Transportation, have reached a tentative agreement with First Student bus company.
"The bargaining committee is pleased that a tentative agreement has been reached that follows the pattern that Unifor has set, which is helping to raise standards for school bus drivers across the province," said Andy Desjardin, President of Unifor Local 4266.
The new tentative agreement will cover 55 school bus drivers and is set to expire June 30, 2020.
"As the leading union for Ontario school bus drivers Unifor will continue to work to improve working conditions to make these jobs more viable so drivers can continue to serve the students in their communities," said Ontario Regional Director Naureen Rizvi.
The tentative agreement meets the goals and objectives of the Bargaining Committee and includes significant increases which address the concerns of the workers. Details of the collective agreement will be released upon ratification, which will take place over the next few days.
