Schools Across North America Gather for "Bring the World to Your Classroom" Event on May 23, 2012
MISSISSAUGA, ON, May 18, 2012 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, May 23, classroom audio company FrontRow will partner with iEARN Canada and TakingITGlobal to unite schools across North America for a special "Bring the World to Your Classroom" webinar event. Any school that has a FrontRow system is welcome to participate in this one-hour, interactive session!
What is a "Bring the World to Your Classroom" event?
Bring the World to Your Classroom is a series of events created by FrontRow to help promote more global, collaborative learning by removing physical classroom barriers. Each event connects students from around the world via a FrontRow classroom audio system and video conferencing software (such as Adobe® Connect™). For our May 23, 2012 event, Emily Hunter will be the guest speaker.
Who is Emily Hunter?
Emily is an environmental activist and daughter of Greenpeace founder, Robert Hunter. She has hosted and co-produced four TV documentaries for MTV News Canada and recently released a book entitled "The Next Eco-Warriors." She has also travelled to Borneo, Indonesia as part of DeforestACTION to see the effects of deforestation and promote awareness about the effects of the palm oil industry.
How will this event work?
On May 23, 2012 at 12:00 pm EST, Emily will attend Fieldcrest Elementary School in Bradford, Ontario to speak to students about creative forms of youth eco-activism and her experiences travelling to Borneo and elsewhere. She'll also help students learn how they can become personally involved in the fight to save the environment. Classrooms from across North America will "patch in" via Adobe® Connect™ to hear Emily's session and ask her live questions.
