Scotiabank provides $100,000 for Alberta communities affected by severe flooding
TORONTO, June 21, 2013 /CNW/ - Scotiabank today provided a $100,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support Alberta communities which have been affected by major flooding.
"Scotiabank is making this donation to support families and communities through this very difficult period," said Laurie Stang, Scotiabank Senior Vice-President, Prairie Region. "This donation will help provide immediate relief and allow these communities to rebuild."
An account has been established and donations will be accepted for Alberta flood victims at any Scotiabank branch across Canada. The campaign will run from Wednesday, June 26, 2013 to Friday, July 26, 2013. Funds donated will go toward the Red Cross response providing immediate relief to flood victims, as well as to meet longer-term needs for affected local residents.
