Non-Scouts can sign up now and still attend camp this summer - Registration for 2014 Summer Camp and 2014-2015 Scouting Programs now open
OTTAWA, June 11, 2014 /CNW/ - Rock climbing, rappelling, canoeing, camping, hiking, archery and sailing are just some of the outdoor adventures that tens of thousands of youth across Canada will discover this summer with Scouts Canada. Girls and boys ages 5-26 can experience the excitement of summer camp at one of more than 125 Scouts Canada outdoor camps across the country. Registration is now open for summer camp and for the 2014-2015 Scouting year.
Scouts Canada offers a wide range of summer camp programs including one- and two-week day camps as well as one- and two-week overnight camps. Focusing on adventure and outdoor activity, kids will also learn valuable leadership and teamwork skills, respect for the environment and experience personal growth.
"Scouts Canada's summer camps provide kids with unforgettable experiences that promote healthy active lifestyles and build capable, confident and well-rounded individuals, whether it's going on a first camping trip, rappelling or learning survival skills," said Kaylee Galipeau, National Youth Commissioner and Chair of the National Youth Network for Scouts Canada. "I grew up going to Scouts Canada summer camps both as a youth and camp councillor and the experiences, memories and friendships I have made will last a lifetime."
Camp programs are open to all youth; registration in Scouts Canada's year-round programming is not required. To learn more about what your local summer camp offers, visit Scouts.ca/camps or contact your local Council.
