Sears Canada Advised of a Potential Safety Hazard Relating to Fisher-Price®
Healthy Care™, Easy Clean™ and Close to Me™ High Chairs.
TORONTO, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. has been advised by Fisher-Price® of a potential safety hazard relating to the Healthy Care™, Easy Clean™ and Close to Me™ High Chairs. It has been discovered that children can fall on or against the pegs on the back legs of the high chair, posing a laceration hazard.
Some of the affected high chairs were sold at Sears Canada retail stores, online at www.sears.ca and through the Sears Canada catalogue between January 2003 and September 2010. The affected model numbers and corresponding Sears item numbers are as follows:

The manufacture's model number (MFG#) can be found on the back or under the seat of the High Chair. The corresponding Sears item number can be found on customers' sales receipts.
Sears Canada has not received any reports of incidents or injuries relating to the use of this product. Fisher-Price® has received 13 reports related to these products in the U.S.
In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers to immediately stop using the high chairs. Sears customers should not return their highchairs but should contact Fisher-Price® at 1-800-432-5437 between 9AM and 6PM ET Monday through Friday to receive information on a free repair kit. Alternatively customers can visit the company's website at www.service.mattel.com .
Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety hazard. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience.
