Sears Canada Advised of a Potential Safety Hazard Relating to the Sand &
Water Transportation Station Toys(TM)
TORONTO, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. has been advised by Step2 ® of a safety hazard involving the train cars used in connection with the Sand & Water Transportation Station Toys TM. It has been discovered that the light blue plastic wheels can detach, posing a choking hazard for children.
The toy station consists of a round blue plastic table with a train track around it, and includes train cars in blue, red and yellow, toy sailboats and a hand rake/shovel. Trains with gray wheels and the base table are not included.
The affected toy station was sold through the Sears Canada catalogue and online at www.sears.ca, between January, 2009 and December, 2009. The Sears regular selling price was $69.99. The model number is 790300 and the corresponding Sears item number is 94016 and can be found on the customer's receipt.
In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers to immediately stop children from using the train cars. Sears customers should contact Step2 at (866) 860-1887 between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday, for a free replacement train. Alternatively customers can visit the company's website at www.step2.com.
