Sears Canada Issues Safety Recall for Certain "Touch" Accent Lamps
TORONTO, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. today is issuing a safety recall for certain "Touch" Ceramic Font Accent Lamps. It has been discovered that the product can overheat causing a fire hazard.
The 15" high "Touch" lamp is a champagne-beige colour and has a high fired swirl ceramic body with polished brass plated accents. The shade consists of a pleated fabric.
These lamps were sold through the Sears Canada catalogue and online at www.sears.ca between January 2007 and December 2008. The Sears regular selling price was $39.99. The model number is 44395 053 and can be found on the customer's receipt.
In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers to immediately stop using the lamp and return it to the nearest Sears department store for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale or Sears Card statement, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt.
Sears Canada has received one report of incident related to the use of this product.
Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety hazard. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience.
