Sears Canada Issues Safety Recall for Hillary Three-Person Tent
TORONTO, July 12 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. today is issuing a safety recall for a Hillary three-person camping tent. The dome-style, item number 75025 is dark and light blue. Testing has revealed that the materials used in this tent do not meet the requirements for tent flammability under Canadian law.
The tent was sold through Sears Canada retail stores, online at www.sears.ca, and through the Sears Canada catalogue between March 2009 and June 2010. The Sears regular selling price was $99.99. The Sears item number is 75025 and can be found on the following: sewn-in label on the inside of the tent just above the floor base: the front of the tent bag; the instruction manual as well as the customers' sales receipt.
In the interest of consumer safety, Sears Canada urges customers to immediately stop using the tent and return it to the nearest Sears department store for a full refund if accompanied by a receipt of sale or Sears Card statement, or for the lowest selling price without a receipt.
Neither Health Canada nor Sears Canada have received reports of incidents or injuries related to the use of this product.
Sears Canada will be posting signs in all of its retail stores to advise customers of this safety recall. Sears Canada is bringing this matter to the public's attention in the interest of consumer safety and apologizes to its customers for any inconvenience.
