Sears Unveils Newly Renovated Lasalle Store at Carrefour Angrignon
An expanded merchandise assortment and an improved shopping environment
LASALLE, QC, Nov. 5 /CNW/ - Sears Canada Inc. (TSX: SCC), today officially unveiled its newly renovated Lasalle store at Carrefour Angrignon.
"We have a large and loyal customer base in Lasalle and we are excited to offer them an even better place to shop," said Simon Bourque, Regional Vice-President, Quebec, Sears Canada Inc. "It's a completely redesigned Sears, with a new look and feel. Our goal with the new store design is to offer excellent service by accommodating the needs of our customers and improving their shopping experience."
The new and improved Lasalle store offers customers an easy-to-shop interior with widened aisles featuring two 12-foot main aisles running the length of the store, as well as ten secondary aisles, making it easier for people to get around. There are completely renovated fitting rooms; an expanded major appliances department featuring Kenmore®/MD, as well as the most sought-after national brands, and a larger bedding department. The new look also features an expanded home renovation centre featuring installed furnaces, air conditioners, windows, roofing, kitchen cabinets and window treatments. Perhaps la "piece de resistance" is the introduction of "Oasis" — a fresh design concept in the cosmetics and fragrances department that provides customers with the option of choosing products on their own or seeking the advice of one of our experts.
Oasis reflects growing customer demand for a mix of products and services in the cosmetic department that is beyond the traditional format. New open fixtures create an inviting space for customers to test, experience and select products at their leisure. The new department and fixtures provide a more comfortable environment for customers to interact with beauty advisors. Throughout the beauty area there is a sleek and modern approach to design. Aisles are spacious, fixtures are state-of-the-art, and product categories have been expanded.
The Oasis displays are stocked with customer favourites such as Lancôme, Estée Lauder, Clinique, Elizabeth Arden, Lise Watier, Shiseido, L'Oréal, Biotherm and Clarins, each with their own accessible area and product assortment. The department also features an outstanding selection of "masstige" (mass market cosmetic brands) like, Garnier, Rimmel, and Covergirl. Oasis also boasts an assortment of organic and natural products, including Burts Bees and Consonant Organic Skincare, the only Canadian national brand of organic skincare. "We are responding to the way that customers shop," added Bourque. "They want a mix of products and price points."
Along with offering the Lasalle community with a premier shopping destination, Sears commitment to the community is celebrated with a special $5,000 donation to Opération Enfant Soleil.
Every year, the staff of all the Sears stores in Quebec support Opération Enfant Soleil by working hard to collect funds for sick children. Since the year 2000, Sears has collected more than $7 million dollars for Opération Enfant Soleil through sales of plush animals and candy, as well as through the selling of tickets for "La maison enfant soleil" and other various fundraising events.
The Sears Lasalle store at Carrefour Angrignon is open Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
