TORONTO, April 7, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadians flocked to Westeros in record numbers for last night's premiere of Season 4 of HBO's massively popular epic fantasy series GAME OF THRONES. The Season 4 premiere averaged more than 1.1 million viewers, winning Sunday as the most-watched television program in Canada last night. With an increase of 31% over its Season 3 debut, it's the most-watched season premiere in HBO Canada's history and the most-watched broadcast on HBO Canada this broadcast year.
Last night's episode of GAME OF THRONES was also a dominant topic on social media, trending nationally on Twitter last night and into this morning, and trending on Facebook since yesterday afternoon.

Premiering Sunday, April 13 at 9 p.m. ET/MT, the second episode of GAME OF THRONES Season Four finds Tyrion lending Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) a hand, while King Joffrey and Margaery host a celebratory breakfast. Meanwhile at Dragonstone, Stannis (Stephen Dillane) loses patience with Davos (Liam Cunningham) and Ramsay (Iwan Rheon) finds a purpose for his pet.
