Seasoned Broadcast Executive Andrew Olson Joins ViXS Board of Directors

TORONTO, July 17, 2013 /CNW/ - ViXS Systems Inc. (TSX: VXS) announced today that Andrew Olson, named one of the "25 All Stars" of the first decade of digital media by StreamingMedia.com, has joined the Company's Board of Directors.

Olson currently serves as BSkyB's Director of Product Planning & Design for TV, Broadband and Talk Products.  In this position, Olson has a crucial role in setting the technology direction of the company and driving innovation. Olson previously served as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Comcast's Converged Products group where he helped launch the new Xfinity set-top box and guide.  Prior to Comcast, Olson was the COO and CFO of thePlatform™, the leading online video management and publishing company he co-founded.

Olson's diverse background includes a role at Microsoft as well as digital audio development for top companies in the U.S. and Japan.  He also co-founded two biotechnology companies and spent three years with The Boston Consulting Group.   Olson has been a contributing writer for a number of digital media and technology publications, has an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a degree in voice from the Musician's Institute of Technology in California.
