New wireless carrier putting expansion plans in place
in Ottawa and Western Canada
TORONTO, Sept. 28 /CNW/ - As Mobilicity prepares to bring its city-based unlimited plans into more markets later this year, the new wireless carrier has made a number of key executive appointments:
- Matthew Gould, General Manager, Western Canada
- Tim Velichka - Market Manager, Calgary
- Janet Holt -- Market Manager, Ottawa

As General Manager of Western Canada, Matthew Gould oversees all sales operations, distribution and retail channel initiatives in Western Canada. A long-time member of the Canadian wireless community, Gould joins Mobilicity after more than a decade at TELUS Communications in a variety of sales and distribution roles, including Regional Manager, Channel Partners, British Columbia. Prior, he held senior-level sales roles at Rogers and Sony of Canada Ltd.
"I have the unique opportunity to build a distribution channel and team from scratch and offer a very strong value proposition for both our partners and consumers," said Gould. "Mobilicity's simple approach to delivering value is a fresh change in the industry and is grabbing a lot of attention."
Mobilicity's Market Manager for Calgary, Tim Velichka will establish the regional sales and distribution team. He comes to Mobilicity after 11 years in the subscription-based, satellite TV industry. Previously, he managed the Mobility and Satellite sales team for Bell Canada in Western Canada and served as National Account Manager for Bell TV. In his early career, Mr. Velichka held several positions at Visions Electronics, including product manager of subscription business units, satellite and cellular.

Janet Holt, Market Manager for Ottawa, is responsible for sales and distribution channel in the new market. A highly motivated sales professional, Holt makes her move to Mobilicity after spending almost 20 years at Rogers Communications, most recently as National Sales Performance Manager. Previously, she held a variety of senior retail and dealer distribution roles at Rogers, including Dealer Business Manager.
