Subaru entrants claim six spots in the top ten during fourth event of the season.
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Oct. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced its second-place standings after the fourth event in the Canadian Rally Championship season, held October 4-5, in Merritt, British Columbia. Subaru Rally Team Canada driver Pat Richard entered the Pacific Forest Rally leading the driver's standings, while Subaru and Mitsubishi were tied in the manufacturer's standings.
Subaru Rally Team Canada has typically excelled in the tight, twisty stages of Pacific Forest Rally, but stage changes - combined with a flat tire Friday evening - ultimately resulted in a final margin of 44.6 seconds, leaving Subaru in second place on the podium and in manufacturer standings. With only a five-point deficit and still two events to go, Subaru Rally Team Canada will battle to reclaim its top spot for the manufacturer's championship.
"All we can do is go all out for victory," said Richard. "We need to get a couple victories for Subaru to win the manufacturer's championship. That's the plan going forward."
The Canadian Rally Championship season continues with the Rocky Mountain Rally, taking place November 1-2, on all new roads in its new location, Invermere, British Columbia.
