TORONTO, July 12, 2017 /CNW/ - It was a close finish, but YouTube Creators Dan and Riya were last to reach the mat in tonight's episode of THE AMAZING RACE CANADA on CTV. The creative millennial duo fell behind when they struggled with the high ropes course in Fort McMurray, Alta. The Toronto-based friends became the second team eliminated upon arriving at the Pit Stop at MacDonald Island Park on the shores of the Athabasca River in Fort McMurray.
"Doing THE AMAZING RACE CANADA made me realize that doing adventurous things puts you out of your comfort zone," said Riya. "With what we want to do with our lives, we always have to be out of our comfort zone," said Dan. "If anything it will just make for better YouTube content and a better friendship."

From the Pit Start in Vancouver, B.C., all nine teams travelled to Fort McMurray, Alta., where Racers had to search for the WildPlay Wood Buffalo Outdoor Adventure Park in Fort McMurray's Vista Ridge area to find their next clue. A Roadblock, the high ropes course and maze had Racers climbing, crawling, and swinging their way to collect a three-part clue as well as three Express Passes hidden throughout the course. Kenneth took the early lead and ended up grabbing all three Express Passes, while Riya and Korey struggled to find the remaining clues.
After completing the Roadblock, teams raced to complete a Detour, with either a "pump-it" or "pull-it" option. In "pump-it," select teams made their way to the Fort McMurray Fish and Game Club where they were greeted by the Wood Buffalo Fire Department and suited up as Fort McMurray fire fighters. With no instructions, teams had to transport, assemble, and use a portable water pump used to put out city and forest fires, and successfully extinguish a fire. In "pull-it," teams made a bang as they learned the basics of Trap Shooting, having to hit 15 clay targets in order to get their next clue.
Teams then headed to Phoenix Heli-Flight, where they had to calculate the correct amount of fuel needed for an upcoming helicopter mission, before boarding the helicopter and taking it to the Pit Stop at MacDonald Island Park. Megan and Courtney arrived first to the Pit Stop, winning a trip for two to Auckland, New Zealand. Korey and Ivana survived a high-stakes foot race against Dan and Riya, who were then eliminated.
