Seizure of contraband and unauthorized items at Stony Mountain Institution Medium Security Unit

STONY MOUNTAIN, MB, Feb. 18, 2020 /CNW/ - Since the beginning of February, as a result of the vigilance of staff members, a total of three packages containing contraband and unauthorized items have been seized on the perimeter of the medium security unit at Stony Mountain Institution.

The contraband and unauthorized items seized include crystal methamphetamine, pills, tobacco, miniature cell phones, and other electronic components. The total estimated institutional value of this seizure is over $127,000.

The police have been notified and the institution is investigating.

These activities may be related to drug use or trafficking that may threaten the safety and security of visitors, inmates and staff members working at CSC institutions.
