New device helps seniors enjoy an active lifestyle and share special moments with friends and family says Canadian senior, Walter Gretzky.
TORONTO, Aug. 15, 2012 /CNW/ - Swedish cell phone manufacturer Doro announced the release of their newest model - the Doro PhoneEasy 612 - in Canada this week. The latest device is designed with the changing profile of seniors in mind, offering features to support the more robust lifestyles that Canadian seniors are now enjoying. The Doro PhoneEasy 612 offers a camera with multimedia messaging (MMS) and other features such as loud and clear sound with adjustable frequency that makes Doro popular among the elderly and those with special needs.
With the Doro PhoneEasy 612, senior users can enjoy an active lifestyle, share experiences with their loved ones and feel like they are still connected with family and friends who may live far away. Famous hockey dad Walter Gretzky, a supporter and user of Doro's mobile devices is happy that he can now share photos easily and instantly with his loved ones on his mobile phone, in addition to keeping in touch. "I never leave home without it. My family likes the security of knowing I'm just a phone call away, especially with my active lifestyle. It's nice for our family to know that we're always just a few buttons away," Gretzky explained.
The mobile phone provides users with a centrally placed button allowing them instant access to the camera and a special button for accessing the MMS/SMS feature, offering a user-friendly solution for popular mobile functions.
"We see a growing curiosity among seniors to use a mobile phone with a camera. However, many of them feel intimidated or overwhelmed by complicated devices with an endless array of functions," said Doro's General Manager in North America, Christopher Lundstrom. "That's why we're so pleased to now offer our Canadian customers an easy to use camera solution."
The Doro PhoneEasy 612 is a clamshell phone developed in collaboration with the Swedish design agency, Ergonomidesign. In addition to the camera and MMS-capabilities there are many other useful smart features, including dedicated security functions such as a programmable emergency key on the back which allows users to contact their closest contacts in case of an accident, hearing aid compatibility, and a large display with adjustable font size.
The 2-megapixel camera has an easy to use menu and a built in memory that allows users to store up to 40 images on the phone, with an extra memory card to save even more.
Doro PhoneEasy 612 is now available in Canada through Rogers Communications (www.rogers.com).
