TORONTO, Oct. 31, 2017 /CNW/ - Kevin Omar Mohamed, 25, was sentenced today in the Ontario Superior Court to four and a half years' imprisonment for participating in or contributing to, directly or indirectly, any activity of a terrorist group for the purpose of enhancing the ability of any terrorist group to facilitate or carry out a terrorist activity, contrary to section 83.18 of the Criminal Code.
He was charged in March 2016 and has been in custody since his arrest.
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada is responsible for prosecuting offences under federal jurisdiction in a manner that is free of any improper influence and that respects the public interest. The PPSC is also responsible for providing prosecution-related advice to law enforcement agencies across Canada.
