Sépaq adds a tenth public charging station to its network of national parks - Inauguration of an Electric Circuit charging station in the Parc de la Yamaska Français
MONTREAL, Dec. 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The founding partners of the Electric Circuit—Les Rôtisseries St-Hubert, RONA, METRO, the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT) and Hydro-Québec—are pleased to announce the commissioning of a new public charging station for electric vehicles by the Société des établissements de plein air du Québec (Sépaq) at the Parc national de la Yamaska. The charging station, which is now accessible to the public, is located at the entrance to the parking lot on boulevard David-Bouchard at Roxton Pond.
Sépaq now offers 10 public charging stations in Québec. In addition to the one in the Parc national de la Yamaska, there are also charging stations located in the Parc de la Chute-Montmorency, at the Aquarium du Québec, at the Station touristique Duchesnay and in the Îles-de-Boucherville, Lac-Témiscouata, Mont-Saint-Bruno and Oka national parks. "By facilitating EV access to its facilities, Sépaq is fulfilling its mission beautifully," said Sépaq's President and CEO, Raymond Desjardins.
"Sépaq's commitment is significant," noted Pierre-Luc Desgagné, Vice President - Public and Government Affairs at Hydro-Québec, on behalf of the Electric Circuit's founding partners. "Sépaq is deploying its charging stations very quickly. The arrival of this new charging station in the Montérégie region is excellent news, particularly for outdoor enthusiasts who travel to the area in their plug-in electric vehicles."
The Electric Circuit
The Electric Circuit remains a major initiative in the rollout of charging infrastructure needed to support the growing number of plug-in vehicles in Québec.
The Electric Circuit is the largest public charging network in Québec, with close to 250 240-V charging stations and one fast-charge (400 V) station in operation in parking lots of the AMT, RONA stores, Metro grocery stores and St-Hubert restaurants throughout Québec. Since its launch in March 2012, 52 private and institutional partners have joined the Electric Circuit. It will continue to expand in order to offer greater geographical coverage and serve more EV drivers in many regions of Québec.
Electric Circuit users have access to a 24/7 telephone help line run by CAA-Québec, as well as a charging station locator service. The Electric Circuit Web site, www.theelectriccircuit.com, is updated as new stations are installed or commissioned.
