FORT MCMURRAY, AB, May 4, 2016 The Fort McMurray Service Canada Centre (SCC) located at 8530 Manning Avenue is temporarily closed due to forest fires and will remain closed until further notice.
In order to service citizens affected by this situation, a reference code has been put in place to facilitate and accelerate the processing of Employment Insurance claims for affected workers. If you are an affected worker, please enter the following reference code online: 4812 01 2016 030516.
This measure has been put in place to ensure that Canadians who are eligible for EI and unable to work because of the fires can access EI benefits when they need them most. Affected workers are encouraged to apply for EI benefits online or in person, as soon as possible, even without a Record of Employment.
Service Canada is making every effort to provide direct support and assistance to the workers and the community during this difficult time.
