The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Services industriels mauriciens Lltd. (SIM) [website in French] has been awarded $545,000 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution, to enhance its productivity and foster its expansion.
Founded in 1995, SIM provides cutting and repair services for metal parts of various sizes, for large businesses including aluminum plants, pulp and paper mills and other manufacturing companies in the farming, mining, manufacturing, food and construction sectors.
The funding, provided through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program, will allow Services industriels mauriciens to acquire automated production equipment, including a laser-cutting machine.
